Policy plan

The Foundation has the objective of promoting social and environmental causes in Europe and other developmental activities.

In general, the Foundation will make gifts to charitable entities which support the objectives of the Foundation but in appropriate cases it will provide direct financial support to organisations in conformity with its objectives.

The Foundation is a non-profit organisation.

The Foundation finances its activities from gifts from third parties and its own investments.

The assets of the Foundation are invested in relatively safe investments such as bank deposits, or in investments which are aligned with achieving charitable objectives.

Donations from within Ave Fenix Philanthropy Group were received with limitations as to suitable causes to be identified: approximately €350,000 for social benefit purposes and a similar amount for environmental purposes within 2023 and 2024.

Activities

Finding projects of a suitable quality is extremely important. Generally, the Foundation cooperates with other organisations which it has got to know through direct investment. With this objective and as a consequence of the difficulties imposed on activity by the SARS-COV-2 pandemic, the Foundation has joined a group of like-minded charitable organisations with a common brand and narrowed its geographic focus to projects in Europe.

As a result of the Foundation joining Ave Fenix Philanthropy Group, the Foundation has been allocated existing projects by other members of the Group to continue to implement with funding dedicated to those projects also provided.

The Foundation has also been allocated funds from Ave Fenix Philanthropy Group for use in various sectors of philanthropy with organisations established/operating in Europe.  Ave Fenix Philanthropy Group currently consists of nine (9) organisations which focus on regional donations, and one (1) which focuses on social enterprises globally; and another two (2) focus on advising and managing philanthropists and philanthropic organisations.

During 2022, the Foundation completed donations to the following major charitable activities:

·         CHF393,006 donation to IUCN in Switzerland for various projects involving endangered species;

·         GBP 250,000 to a hospital in the United Kingdom, towards a new breast cancer unit.

FORECAST 2023

The Foundation expects to make new donations during 2023 and 2024 in accordance with donations earmarked for specific areas of charitable activity in the European geographic region, to organisations selected as meeting the objectives of the Foundation, with approximately EUR300,000.- being allocated across identified purposes in the Environmental and Ecological, Flora and Fauna sectors  and approximately EUR300,000.- spread across various social benefit purposes approved by the Foundation. Additionally, the Foundation will cooperate and co-donate with other members of Ave Fenix Philanthropy Group on projects of global significance, as well as completing already committed donations.
